OUR FATHER WHO JUDGES HIS OWN PEOPLE FIRST

The book of Isaiah chapter 17 verse 4 says this;

NIV - “In that day the glory of Jacob will fade; the fat of his body will waste away.

AMP - “Now in that day the [former] glory of Jacob [Israel—his might, his population, his prosperity] will fade,

And the fatness of his flesh will become lean.

This verse, speaking of the day of judgement of the former ally of Israel, Syria, Israel's own greatness will fade and any reserves of value will be erased.

Judah is told that because he has forgotten the God of his salvation, the things that he plants will look promising while it grows but at harvest time, will render nothing. Verses 11 - 12 say it this way;

Because you [Judah] have forgotten the God of your salvation And have not remembered the Rock of your Stronghold—Therefore you plant lovely plants. And set the grounds with vine slips of a strange god, In the day that you plant it you carefully fence it in, And in the morning you bring your seed to blossom;Yet [promising as it is] the harvest will be a heap [of ruins that passes away] In the day of sickness and incurable pain.

This condition is a form of delusion that sets in when effort and patience seem assured to bring a harvest but after all the output, nothing is yielded.

Amen.
