OUR FATHER'S ANGER TOWARDS HIS PEOPLE RELENTS 

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 25 says this;

Very soon my anger against you will end and my wrath will be directed to their destruction.”

The Assyrians had been used as an impliment of judgement against the Lord's people.

The Assyrians had opportunistically taken advantage of their position to try to gain absolute control of the nations of the earth and by extension, the people of God.

This verse highlights a moment where the anger of God against His people ends and is redirected towards the destruction of the Assyrians because of their presumption and arrogance.

Amen.

OUR FATHER WHO WILL PROTECT HIS REMNANT FROM THE ASSYRIANS

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 24 says this;

Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says: “My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.

Specifying the remnant of His people who are marked by the fact that they dwell in Zion, the Lord tells them not to be afraid of the agents of darkness who strike them with rods and threaten them with clubs.

The Assyrians, acting towards God's people like the Egyptians did towards the Israelites while they were in bondage, used violence or the threat of violence to try to intimidate God's people but the Lord instructs His people not to be intimidated by them on account of the power of His might.

Amen.

OUR FATHER WHO WILL ENFORCE THE DECREES OF HIS REMNANT

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 23 says this;

The Lord, the Lord Almighty, will carry out the destruction decreed upon the whole land.

Continuing  from verse 22, we see that the Lord Himself will carry out the destruction that His remnant will have decreed over the land.

The Lord, in His tremendous might, will unleash a strike that will demolish the infrastructure and administration of oppression that was set up by the kingdom of darkness.

Amen.

 OUR FATHER WHO PROTECTS HIS REMNANT

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 22 says this;

Though your people be like the sand by the sea, Israel, only a remnant will return.

Destruction has been decreed, overwhelming and righteous.

This verse references the metaphor within the promise that the Lord made to Abraham about the number of his descendants being like the sand by the sea.

Though this vast number is fulfilled, the people of God who emerge from the conflagration with the king of Assyria described in Isaiah chapter 10, will be a remnant who will survive the destruction and will rise to decree overwhelming righteous judgement on the kingdom of Assyria.

The power of God will enforce their decrees and kingdom of Assyria will be evicerated.

OUR FATHER SET HIS SON UPON THE THRONE

From Psalm 2

On My holy mountain

Have I installed My King

Therefore, you rulers, of the earth 

Be wise and humbly bow to Him 

Serve God with fear always reverence

His rule with trembling

Blessed are all those 

Who find their refuge in Him

Why do the nations conspire[a]

    and the peoples plot in vain?

2 The kings of the earth rise up

    and the rulers band together

    against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,

3 “Let us break their chains

    and throw off their shackles.”

4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;

    the Lord scoffs at them.

5 He rebukes them in his anger

    and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,

6 “I have installed my king

    on Zion, my holy mountain.”

7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:

He said to me, “You are my son;

    today I have become your father.

8 Ask me,

    and I will make the nations your inheritance,

    the ends of the earth your possession.

9 You will break them with a rod of iron[b];

    you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”

10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;

    be warned, you rulers of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear

    and celebrate his rule with trembling.

12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry

    and your way will lead to your destruction,

for his wrath can flare up in a moment.

    Blessed are all who take refuge in him

OUR FATHER'S REMNANT WILL RETURN

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 21 says this;

A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God.

In the conflagration with the king of Assyria, the remnant of God's people will be separated out and they will return to the Mighty God.

This remnant is a set of people who, with humility, joy, gratitude, serenity and anticipation, will return to the Lord in His service.

Amen.

OUR FATHER IS OUR PROVIDER

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 20 says this;

In that day the remnant of Israel, the survivors of Jacob, will no longer rely on him who struck them down but will truly rely on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

The day that the king of Assyria is struck down, the remnant of the Lord's people will decouple from their reliance on the Assyrian economic systems and will begin to walk in faith trusting in the provision of God.

This transition represents the end of the control that the kingdom of darkness will be able to wield over the people of God.

OUR FATHER HAS CHOSEN ZION

From Psalm 132;

For the Lord has chosen Zion

As His dwelling place forever 

All Her priests are clothed with salvation

And her faithful ones sing for joy (x2)

For His annointed One is on the mighty throne

And on His head He wears a radiant crown 

For the Lord has chosen Zion

And her faithful ones sing for joy (x2)

Lord, remember David

    and all his self-denial.

2 He swore an oath to the Lord,

    he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:

3 "I will not enter my house

    or go to my bed,

4 I will allow no sleep to my eyes

    or slumber to my eyelids,

5 till I find a place for the Lord,

    a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."

6 We heard it in Ephrathah,

    we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:[a]

7 "Let us go to his dwelling place,

    let us worship at his footstool, saying,

8 "Arise, Lord, and come to your resting place,

    you and the ark of your might.

9 May your priests be clothed with your righteousness;

    may your faithful people sing for joy."

10 For the sake of your servant David,

    do not reject your anointed one.

11 The Lord swore an oath to David,

    a sure oath he will not revoke:

"One of your own descendants

    I will place on your throne.

12 If your sons keep my covenant

    and the statutes I teach them,

then their sons will sit

    on your throne for ever and ever."

13 For the Lord has chosen Zion,

    he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,

14 "This is my resting place for ever and ever;

    here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.

15 I will bless her with abundant provisions;

    her poor I will satisfy with food.

16 I will clothe her priests with salvation,

    and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.

17 “Here I will make a horn[b] grow for David

    and set up a lamp for my anointed one.

18 I will clothe his enemies with shame,

    but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown."

OUR FATHER WHO IS OUR SHIELD AND DEFENDER

From Psalm 140;

I will say to the Lord, "You are my God."

Sovereign Lord, you are my deliverer

Surely I will praise Your holy name

I will dwell in your presence forever

In the day of battle, You are my shield 

Keep me safe, Oh Lord when I cry to You in prayer 

Rescue me from those who set a snare for me 

So I will dwell in Your presence forever

Psalm 140

Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers;

    protect me from the violent,

2 who devise evil plans in their hearts

    and stir up war every day.

3 They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent's;

    the poison of vipers is on their lips.[b]

4 Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked;

    protect me from the violent,

    who devise ways to trip my feet.

5 The arrogant have hidden a snare for me;

    they have spread out the cords of their net

    and have set traps for me along my path.

6 I say to the Lord, "You are my God."

    Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.

7 Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer,

    you shield my head in the day of battle.

8 Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord;

    do not let their plans succeed.

9 Those who surround me proudly rear their heads;

    may the mischief of their lips engulf them.

10 May burning coals fall on them;

    may they be thrown into the fire,

    into miry pits, never to rise.

11 May slanderers not be established in the land;

    may disaster hunt down the violent.

12 I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor

    and upholds the cause of the needy.

13 Surely the righteous will praise your name,

    and the upright will live in your presence.

 OUR FATHER WHO JUDGES HIS OWN PEOPLE

The book of Amos chapter 2 verse 7 says this;

They trample on the heads of the poor as on the dust of the ground and deny justice to the oppressed.

Father and son use the same girl and so profane my holy name.

This verse contains three articles for which the Lord's judgement targeted the people of God;

• They trampled the poor as though valueless
• They denied justice to the oppressed
• They contravened sexual order and propriety

Israel conducted her affairs in a callous and selfish way and when the Lord sent prophets and Nazarites to caution them, the people of Israel silenced them.

It was for this that Israel was going to be crushed like an overloaded cart.

They would suffer judgement that would send their brave warriers running in terror.

OUR FATHER WILL REDUCE THE EMPIRE OF THE KING OF ASSYRIA TO A TINY JURISDICTION

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 19 says this;

And the remaining trees of his forests will be so few that a child could write them down.

The aftermath of the fire that will sweep across what the king of Assyria acquired for himself will be almost total destruction.

The great forests ( goverments of nations ) he controlled will be reduced to a smattering of trees.

The trees in this case represent administrative jurisdictions and when the power of God sweeps through the territories that the king of Assyria had acquired around the world, the Assyrian will be left with tiny number of jurisdictions to which he will retreat and conceal himself.

 OUR FATHER WILL WEAKEN THE KING OF ASSYRIA

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 18 says this;

The splendor of his forests and fertile fields it will completely destroy, as when a sick person wastes away.

Continuing on the progression of the destruction of the plans of the king of Assyria (Lucifer), after the scorching of the global infrastructure  of  oppression of the people of the earth, the forests and farms that the Assyrian claimed for himself so as to control resources and food supplies will be struck by the light of the Lord in the form of fire and all the land the Assyrian acquired will be destroyed. 

The productivity of his land assets will fail as a person afflicted by sickness wastes away and all his holdings will fall from his hands.

OUR FATHER WHOSE LIGHT WILL BECOME A FIRE 

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 17 says this;

The Light of Israel will become a fire, their Holy One a flame; in a single day it will burn and consume his thorns and his briers.

Following the immobilization of the agents of the kingdom of the Assyrian by a wasting disease and the incineration of the grandiose structures erected to symbolize His power, the Light of the Lord will become a fire that will rapidly consume the Assyrian's infrastructure of oppression that he constructs around the earth.

Lethal squads of soldiers and networks of prisons around the world set up by the Assyrian to gain absolute control of the people of the earth will be obliterated in a single day.

Praise the Lord for his salvation.

OUR FATHER WHOSE POWER CANNOT BE OVERRIDEN

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 16 says this;

Therefore, the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will send a wasting disease upon his sturdy warriors; under his pomp a fire will be kindled like a blazing flame.

The king of Assyria, having presumed that he could overrun the nations of the world with the power he was given to be a judgement to them, will find his agents struck with a wasting disease that will leave them staggering and slipping a falling.

This scurge will be visible to all when those colluding with the powers of darkness are suddenly attacked with a disease that will render them unable to function. The people who had taken on the roles of enforcers of the power of darkness and terrorizors of the population of the world will succumb to this plagues.

Every place that the king of Assyria will set up his seals and symbols of his false authority and power will be steuck eith fire and burned down in the sight of all.

These events will be the death knell of the premature power grab attempted by the Assyrian.

OUR FATHER WHO USES KINGDOMS FOR HIS PURPOSES AND IS HIMSELF NOT USED

The book Isaiah chapter 10 verse 15 says this;

Does the ax raise itself above the person who swings it, or the saw boast against the one who uses it?

As if a rod were to wield the person who lifts it up, or a club brandish the one who is not wood!

An impliment such as an ax or a saw or a rod or a club follows the leading of the one who wields it. 

The king of Assyria, being used as an impliment, crossed into impropriety when he saw his position as an opportunity to pursue his own agenda and acted independently of the one who was using his kingdom to being judgement on God's people and their neighbours.

The absurdity of this inversion is reflected in the image of an ax lifting itself above its user or a saw raising claims of itself and its purpose above its user.

The inappropriate notion of a rod turning around and wielding the one who lifted it or a club turning around and brandishing the living person who held it is captured in the second part of our verse.

OUR FATHER WHOSE JUDGEMENT TERRIFIES THE PROUD

The book of Isaiah chapter 15 verse 4 says this;

Heshbon and Elealeh cry out, their voices are heard all the way to Jahaz.

Therefore the armed men of Moab cry out,  and their hearts are faint.

As judgement descends on Moab, the neighbour of God's people, their screams are so loud they are heard all the way to adjacent towns.

The terror in the voices of those who suffer causes the armed soldiers to respond in terror themselves and their hearts shrink as their courage evaporates.

OUR FATHER WHO WILL DESTROY THE AGENDA OF THE EVIL ONE

The book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 14 says this;

As one reaches into a nest, so my hand reached for the wealth of the nations; as people gather abandoned eggs, so I gathered all the countries; not one flapped a wing, or opened its mouth to chirp.’”

This verse captures the thoughts of the king of Assyria where he uses the avian metaphor of nests to represent the nations that he surreptitiously ransacked and usurped.

The nations of the world unassumingly carried about their business of diplomacy and trade but behind the scenes, a bad actor was able to secretly manipulate the affairs of states to gain control over the storehouses of all the countries.

Having gained the wealth of the nations, he took advantage of the fact that the nations had become unmoored from their spiritual rock and were in a state of abandonment.

While men who should have been watchers slept, their nations were usurped by the king of Assyria as one gathers abandoned eggs and no one objected to the takeover of their states by the global agenda.

Not one chirp or flapping wing fought back as the global cabal under the direction of the king of Assyria as he encapsulated the nations under his power.

With the takeover complete, it would appear that the kingdom of darkness had succeeded in the quest to gain complete and permanent control over the earth but what seems to have been unknown to the powers of darkness was that they were merely an instrument in the hands of God to carry out His judgement on the nations.

Looking at the position of advantage they had been placed, they mistakenly thought they could opportunistically grab the nations for themselves and cement their control over the earth.

Isaiah chapter 10 verse 15 to 19 captures the reversal of fortune suffered by the kingdom of darkness because they had presumed that they, a mere impliment, could overrun the agenda of the One who wielded the impliment.

Does the ax raise itself above the person who swings it, or the saw boast against the one who uses it?

In this passage, the rhetorical questions are asked about the propriety of an inert impliment guiding the agenda of the One using it.

• Does the axe raise itself above the one who swings it?
• Does the saw boast against its user?
• Does the rod wield the one who lifts it?
• Does the wooden club brandish the Living One?

The progression of destruction then begins for the globalists.

• A wasting disease is set upon the agents of the cabal.
• A fire is lit against the displays of pomp majesty attempted by the king of Assyria to publically destroy it.
• The Light of Israel will be a fire that incinerates the installations of security and enforcement that they have set up around the world.
• The lands of forests and agriculture that the cabal had taken for itself is destroyed and rendered worthless.

After this destruction, only a tiny remnant of the domain they acquired will remain under the control of the king of Assyria.

Such will be the reversal of fortune which is to come and even now begins.

OUR FATHER WHO GAINED SALVATION FOR US BY HIS OWN ARM Part 2

The book of Isaiah chapter 59 verse 7 says this;

Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood.

They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.

The Lord looked and saw the activities of men were unjust and wicked. We were unrestrained and actively pursued wickedness.

In every way, we sought to cultivate evil in our midst and there was no one who could intervene and so the Lord undertook to intervene himself and to achieve salvation.

He would be dressed in garments of vengeance and zeal to bring wrath to his enemies and retribution to his foes.

The Lord will come as the saviour to His people who repent as verse 20 says;

“The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the Lord.

This is when the Lord will make and eternal covenant with His people recorded in verse 21;

 “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever,” says the Lord.

OUR FATHER WHO GAINED SALVATION FOR US BY HIS OWN ARM Part 1

The book of Isaiah chapter 63 verses 4- 5 says This;

It was for me the day of vengeance; the year for me to redeem had come.

I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm achieved salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me.

This passage, containing the  past-tense first-person account of an unnamed redeemer, recounts the arrival of the timeframe allocated for a day of vengeance and the year for his redemption.

This person, introduced to the reader with the question, "Who is this?", highlights the mystery of who the Messiah would appear to His people as.

The redeemer would be marked by a particular experience that he would have. His endeavor of redemption would be performed alone.

The salvation He had come to provide was brought about by his own effort and he was sustained in his quest to succeed by his own wrath against evil.

The redeemer decribed here is the Lord Jesus Christ who, in His zeal, fought against the powers of darkness and brought them under subjection so as to save His people.

This passage mirrors the passage in Isaiah chapter 59 verses 16 - 17 which replicates almost exactly  thought for thought as highlighted in the excerpts;

He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm achieved salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him.

He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.

Our passage of study in chapter 63 differs from the mirror in Isaiah chapter 59 in these fascinating ways;

- 63 is in 1st person while 59 is in 3rd 

- 63 no one gave support 59 no one to intervene

- 63 is sustained by wrath 59 by righteousness

The passage in chapter 63 is written from the point of view of the coming redeemer as He answers the question in verse 1 "Who is this..?".

The passage in chapter 59 is written from the point of view of the prophet Isaiah.

OUR FATHER WHO KNOWS ALL THINGS PART 2

The second part of the thought of the king of Assyria continues in Isaiah chapter 10 verse 11 which says;

shall I not deal with Jerusalem and her images as I dealt with Samaria and her idols?’”

The Assyrian king (representing Lucifer), having concluded that Jerusalem and Samaria were inferior to the nations he had already conquered due to their inferior idols and spiritual practices, said to himself that he would easily be able to deal with Jerusalem even as he had dealt with Samaria.

He was confident that he would be able to handle not only Jerusalem but the spiritual entity that backed up Jerusalem. He had conquered Samaria and their spirit overlords and felt the same would be true of Jerusalem.

Lucifer had made an error in the calculus. Jerusalem was under judgement by the Lord for inquity and the pursuit of false gods but there was a remnant in Jerusalem that the God of heaven and earth was interested in and as homely and dishevelled as they looked, the power of God was soon going to be directed at the enemies of God's people and Lucifer would recieve retalliatory blasts that would shatter what was left of his kingdom.

As verse 17 says;

The Light of Israel will become a fire,  their Holy One a flame; in a single day it will burn and consume his thorns and his briers.

OUR FATHER WHO KNOWS ALL THINGS PART 1

Looking even more deeply into the first part the thought of the Assyrian king captured in the book of Isaiah chapter 10 verse 10, we consider the text which says this;

As my hand seized the kingdoms of the idols, kingdoms whose images excelled those of Jerusalem and Samaria—

Using the agency of his instruments of control over nations, the Assyrian King (who represents the prince of rebellion named Lucifer),  gained dominance over the countries of the world.

These instruments are represented by 'hand' in the passage.

By his directive, his army of strategists, tacticians, agents, double agents and infantry soldiers successfully overran kingdom after kingdom.

By his estimation, the nations he had gained control over thus far were those that had greater spiritual investment and practice than the investment and practice in Jerusalem and Samaria which were the realms that had been given to and occupied by the children of Israel.

The king of Assyria had reached this conclusion by comparing the graven images that served as idols in the territories he had conquered with those he saw in Jerusalem and Samaria and he was persuaded that he could defeat the remain territories with ease due to their inferior spiritual technology.

OUR FATHER HAS THE POWER TO BRING DOWN DARKNESS

The book of Obadiah verse 4 says this;

Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord.

This verse identifies the mobility and the location of the king of Edom (who in this case, is standing in for Lucifer).

Having the ability to traverse through territory by soaring to great elevation and assigning to himself a dwelling place among the stars (these are metaphors of the highest ranking beings in the heavens), Lucifer, engulfed in the deception of pride, believed himself to be invincible as described in the verse preceding our verse of focus, verse 3;

The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’

We read here of how pride deceived Lucifer into being confident in his fortified position and strategy.

From his high vantage point in the fortress among the rocky crags, he could not see how anyone could challenge him.

Lucifer, for all his advantage and perception, did not seem to understand that the Sovereign God was higher than all and knew the inner thoughts of all beings in existence.

Obadiah verse 4 indicates that Lucifer's location will be traced and he will be brought down.

In the current milieu, the agents of darkness have entrenched themselves in the high places of the world and have set about executing a mission of domination to bring the entire globe under the direct control of the kingdom of Lucifer.

Unknown to them, it appears that like their commander, they don't know of the reach and power of the sovereign God.

They will be brought down prior to when Lucifer is brought down. Their fate of sitting in the gloom waiting for their master to be brought down into the realm of the dead is described in Isaiah chapter 14 verses 9 - 10;

The realm of the dead below is all astir to meet you at your coming; it rouses the spirits of the departed to greet you—all those who were leaders in the world; it makes them rise from their thrones—all those who were kings over the nations. They will all respond, they will say to you, “You also have become weak, as we are; you have become like us.”

OUR FATHER IN WHOSE ARMS I AM SECURE

From Psalm 141;

May my prayer like incense rise before Your throne

I lift my hands as a sacrifice to worship You alone (x2)

My eyes are fixed on you, Oh Sovereign Lord

Hear me when I call  

While I'm in the safety of Your arms

Never will I fall (X3)

Psalm 141

1 I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;  hear me when I call to you.

2 May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

3 Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;  keep watch over the door of my lips.

4 Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.

5 Let a righteous man strike me-that is a kindness; let him rebuke me-that is oil on my head.

My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

6 Their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.

7 They will say, -As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.

8 But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge-do not give me over to death.

9 Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers,  from the snares they have laid for me.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.

OUR FATHER WHO WILL BRING THE OPPRESSOR TO AN END

The book of Isaiah chapter 16 verse 4 says this;

Let the Moabite fugitives stay with you; be their shelter from the destroyer.”

The oppressor will come to an end,  and destruction will cease;  the aggressor will vanish from the land.

This verse is advice to the people of God to shelter the people who will be displaced by the brutal actions of the kingdom of darkness.

As calamity falls on the people of the world, God's people will be shielded by the Lord and they will be blessed  and the expectation described here is that the people of God should use their blessings to assist the victims of the destroyer because the destroyer will suddenly be truncated and will disappear.

OUR FATHER WHO COMFORTS HIS PEOPLE AFTER HIS JUDGEMENT VISITS THEM

The book of Isaiah chapter 11 12 verse 17 1 says this;

On that day you will say, “Praise the Lord! He was angry with me, but now he comforts me.

The people of God, in the face of a great calamity, are filled with consternation as their security and the economy collapses around them.

As they bow under the Lord's judgement, they suddenly find reprieve when the Lord's anger abates and He turns to comfort them.

In relief, they will praise their God and honor Him as He ministers to them and provides all that they have need of  during the complete failure of the economy.

It is during this period that the Lord's people are encouraged to valiantly help their neighbours using what they have been blessed with as described in Isaiah chapter 16 verse 4;

Let the Moabite fugitives stay with you; be their shelter from the destroyer.”

The oppressor will come to an end,  and destruction will cease;  the aggressor will vanish from the land.

God's people are assured that they can shelter their neighbours from the oppressor who had set upon the destruction of the world because the Lord would bring a sudden and complete remival of the aggressor.

In times of calamity, let us shield our neighbours using the provisions and protection with which we ourselves are blessed by our Father in heaven

OUR FATHER IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED

From Psalm 113

He lifts the poor from the ground

He gives the hungry what they need 

He settles empty homes with children

From the rising of the sun

To when it sets again

His glory shines above the heavens

Praise the Lord

    praise the name of the Lord.

5 Who is like the Lord our God,

    the One who sits enthroned on high,

OUR FATHER WHOSE SPIRIT RESTS UPON THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST

The book of Isaiah chapter 11 verse 2 says this;

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, and might; the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

OUR FATHER RESPONDS TO PRIDE AND HAUTINESS WITH JUDGEMENT

Examining verse 12 of chapter 10 of the book of Isaiah, we read this;

When the Lord has finished all his work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, he will say, “I will punish the king of Assyria for the willful pride of his heart and the haughty look in his eyes. 

The king of Assyria had failed to detect that Jerusalem was in the weakened condition it was because it was undergoing the punishment of judgement for failure to adhere to the Lord their God.

The prophet, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared that the Lord was at that time, executing judgement on Mount Zion and Jerusalem for their infidelities to God but when He was done, He would punish the King of Assyria for the pride and haughtiness with which he had looked upon God's people during their time of weakness.

Amen.

OUR FATHER WHO KNOWS THE THOUGHTS OF ALL BEINGS

Looking even deeper into verse 11 of Isaiah chapter 10, let us examine the text component by component.

shall I not deal with Jerusalem and her images as I dealt with Samaria and her idols?’”

The king of Assyria, assessing his intention to gain control over Jerusalem ( God's people ),  measured Jerusalem and her spiritual cohesion to be on par with Samaria and since he had already subjugated Samaria, he felt confident that he would be able to bring Jerusalem under his total domination.

The question he asked himself was if there was any reason why he would not be able to bring Jerusalem under his control.

Looking at Jerusalem, he saw their religious practices and spiritual influence to be indistinguishable from the practices and influence of her neighbours.

This led him to the wrong conclusion that his experience in overrunning Jerusalem would be the same as overrunning Samaria.

OUR FATHER KNOWS THE THOUGHTS OF ALL BEINGS PART 1

Isaiah chapter 10 verse 10 says this;

As my hand seized the kingdoms of the idols,  kingdoms whose images excelled those of Jerusalem and Samaria—

This verse, relaying the reasoning that the king of Assyria conducted as he contemplated his assault on Jerusalem, qualitatively measured the cultural and spiritual development of the kingdoms he had already conquered and compared them to the level that Jerusalem had attained.

He concluded that Samaria and Jerusalem were at a lower standard of spiritual technology that his previous conquests and this led him to make the logical jump that he made in verse 11;

Shall I not deal with Jerusalem and her images as I dealt with Samaria and her idols?’”

He became confident that he could handle Jerusalem with the same effort that he had handled Samaria.
