OUR FATHER RESERVES THE AUTHORITY TO LIFT UP KINGS AND TO TEAR THEM DOWN.

The book of Isaiah chapter 19 verse 4 says this;

I will hand the Egyptians over to the power of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,” declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.

In this verse, the Egyptians, who were an actual oppressive force over the people of God when they had sorjourned to Egypt and had been turned into slaves, are standing in for the systems of oppression over God's people.

The text describes a method by which an oppresive power is visited upon with judgement where a harsh and cruel master is placed over the harsh and cruel masters.

The difficulties and agonies that they impose on their victims are now imposed on them through the placement of a harsh leader over them.

That with which they had afflicted those who were under them, settled on their own heads.

This brings discouragement and disunity to the oppressive society and ultimately causes their disassembly.
