OUR FATHER TO WHOM WE SHOULD ALWAYS GIVE THANKS IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS
Chapter 5 of the Apostle Paul´s letter to the Ephesians from verses 17 - 21, in light of the fact that they had been extricated from the kingdom of darkness at such a dear cost, Paul charges the Ephesians to be watchful as they walked out their Christian lives and he advised them to leverage wisdom to recovery lost time in the evil world within which they lived that aimed to steer as many as possible towards futility where the clock was run out and everyone suffered loss.
Paul's prescription for this strategy of the kingdom of darkness was to seek to understand what the will of the Lord was for their lives and to replace regular social gatherings with spiritual social gatherings where the Spirit of God was present and all conversations were seasoned with scriptures, spiritual songs and singing and each person sustained an active altar of gratititude and worship in their hearts.
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Amen.
